Settle debt with friend both 1:1 and group

I had a personal debt with a friend and he had to pay me from some expenses in a group. But when I settle via the friend page, the debt is still showing in the group. Am I doing this wrong or this is a bug? I have to delete the settlement payment and individually settle the 1:1 debt and the group debt.
