Family plan
Rather than having multiple people sign up for different accounts, have an option for a family account that you can invite people. Specifically for couples because then only 1 person has to manage the subscription.

Allow settle up to multiple people
Let’s say Friend 1 wants to settle up with Friend 2 and Friend 3. Currently, he needs to create 2 separate settle ups, one for each friend. My suggestion is a button in the settle up screen to add extra recipients, allowing even or custom amounts to each other. It’s just a small QoL improvement, nothing we can’t live without. :) If there currently is a way to do this, I wasn’t able to figure it out. btw Bradley, AMAZING job on this app. It’s by far the best of its kind. Thanks for making it!

Additional Payment services and group integration
Ability to add new (and multiple) payment services particularly for QR code payments. Preferably a public link from a photo hosting site (e.g. google photos) so the user hosts the file themselves Ideally the user sets the name for the payment services instead of being forced to choose from possibly limited options. This would then appear on another tab in the groups (i.e. ‘payment methods’) where others in the group can check how a particular person wants to be paid if they have multiple online banks with different QR codes for each. The payment methods can be shown as a list set as a hyperlink (the name of the link is what the user set on the 3rd bullet point) pointing to the link they provided or alternatively have a preview function (hover or otherwise) for each payment method, if possible Currency selection for each would be nice, in instances where the user has multiple banks across countries (and avoiding forex fees)

Add Friends Bug
I am trying to add a new friend into my list without creating a group (add a new friend function which the friend do not have SplitMyExpenses account). The friend will stuck at finish step. I clicked on the finish but it will not load or proceed to the next step. However, if I created a group and then add a new friend, there is no issue to proceed to finish the steps. Could you please look into this matter?

Balance Breakdown View (Per-Expense Net Impact)
Hi Splitwise Team, I would love to see a “Balance Breakdown” view that shows how each expense contributes to the current net balance between two users. Right now, the app shows a net balance (e.g., “Luismi owes you $2,057.69”), but it’s not possible to see a clear per-expense breakdown of how that total is calculated. It would be extremely helpful to display something like: Balance Components: • Citadines: +$280.53 • Mystays: +$726.38 • Universal Studios: –$402.00 Total: $2,057.69 This would improve transparency, auditing, and reconciliation — especially for trips with unequal splits or multiple participants. Even a simple toggle or “Show breakdown” link under the balance would solve this. Thank you for considering!

Sorry about bothering you again. it looks like i found the cause. it is not only in the edit expense that the issue is happening. when i enter the amount and change the splitting strategy, the amount stays without an issue. but if i edit the ratios in any of the splitting strategies, and then change the splitting strategy again, the amount goes to ‘0’.

UI Update
Hey this is more like an unfair request from me. But i think your features are really cool and the best out there, but the UI is not the best. I prefer the UI of Tricount app, it is very intutive and easy to use. If you could please try it and see what you can do. again, I know this is an unfair request but I think it will improve UX. i’ll attach a ss from tricount.|

I have already submitted this bug once. but i forgot to mention that this only happens when you go to edit an expense. not when you create it. when you change the splitting strategy, the amount goes to zero.

When i enter an amount, and then change the splitting strategy, the amount becomes 0 each time. this is not convenient at all. because the amount does not change based on the splitting strategy.

When having several of the same transactions would like to be able to enter a Reference Number that would then appear on the line as “Description (Reference Number)”

Automatically set recurring expenses to "Inactive" after their end date
After the recurring expenses are exhausted, they're still visible in the "Recurring expenses" view. This may be misleading depending on the usage. My usage: I have the recurring expense "Rent" and have it repeat until the end of the current lease. The following lease might have different splits, prices, etc. but from the "Recurring expenses" view this is ambiguous. They are still distinguishable since they have different start dates, but the "Active" label suggests the recurrence is still ongoing. Furthermore: there's an "Active" label - is there an "Inactive" label? How is that set/determined today?

ios app off-by-one wrong date bug
the input date vs posted date usually ends up wrong by 1 day when editing an existing transaction. this only happens in the ios app, did not experience it when using the web based version before. might be a timezone issue.

Adding Income to a Group
I am wondering if there is already a way to do this that I am missing… but would love to see a way to add "income" to a payment group that reduces what everyone owes evenly. The best use case I can think of (which is my use case) would be a couple who splits expenses and receives a sum that they want to put towards reducing the shared expenses all at once.

Changing debtor distribution
After entering all expenses and then using the "simplify debts" option I usually contact all people who get money and tell them who they get money from. I noticed that after coming back to this after some time the dstribution of the debtors often changed like Debtor A was distributed to Creditor X and then suddenly to Creditor Y. Also settling up one debtor often causes to change the whole balance how the debt is distributed. Is this a bug or am I not using the program as intended?
